In recent years this has been an ideal spot for sea trout fishing (no permit required) and it is also an ideal base for walking, birdwatching etc. There is also a number of well-stocked freshwater lochs nearby offering excellent brown trout fishing (permit available at minimal cost from Shetland Anglers Association).
The property also has views over the Island of Mousa (mentioned above), which is a Scottish Natural Heritage nature reserve. A trip to Mousa to see the Mousa Broch is a must for anyone visiting Shetland. The Island of Mousa has the best-preserved example of these ancient fortresses. There is a well-stocked friendly local shop only a short walk away as well as the public hall, pleasure boat Marina and municipal playing fields. Lerwick is only a 10- Minute drive to the north and the Sumburgh Airport is only a little further to the south. This is therefore an ideal location for anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings but in an accessible and relatively central location for exploring the rest of Shetland.
